The Brisbane Irish Festival is a major annual event celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and Irish culture’s contribution to Queensland. Since 1989, the festival has featured the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Brisbane’s CBD, which can draw up to 10,000 onlookers with over 80 colourful floats and displays. Organised by the St Patrick’s Day Parade Association Inc., the 2026 parade is expected to attract even more spectators along the same route starting and ending near the Botanic Gardens on Alice Street. The festival continues to grow in popularity and size, involving the greater Brisbane district, with hopes it will expand further to offer residents and visitors a vibrant, major community event.
